Barcelona FC has predicted that it will generate exceptional revenues from ticket sales for its upcoming match, which may even exceed the revenues it receives from famous confrontations with traditional rival Real Madrid, in its anticipated match in the second leg of the quarter-finals of the European Champions League, which will bring it together with the French team Paris Saint-Germain, scheduled to be held on Tuesday, April 16.
At the Olympic Stadium (Montjuïc) in Catalonia, a sign has already been hung announcing that “tickets are sold out” in preparation for the anticipated match.
Sources from within the Catalan club reported that the demand for tickets was so high that they were sold out very quickly as soon as they were available for purchase, whether in traditional markets or via websites, and no free invitations were allocated as a result.
To ensure the safety of the match, which was classified as a high-risk match, more stringent security measures were used than usual, as stated by the Minister of the Interior of the Catalonia region, Joan Ignaci Elena, during statements he made to Radio Monte Carlo France, in which a state of security alert was declared in the areas surrounding the stadium.
Specifically, Minister Ignasi Elena said there is a plan to involve 300 security personnel, with protection methods “beyond what is usual.”
